All week, I thought about what I could write to keep inspiring you and lifting you up (if you need a lift, that is).

Each day brought something new that I wanted to share with you – great insights, practices that helped me with my own anxieties, and even fun stories – as my week was one of those in which your own personal pain and our collective suffering help melt your guard down (or bring you to your knees).

It’s one of those times that exposes the soft spot from which compassion, love, and healing then spill out. (I posted a video in my Patreon community on an especially vulnerable day.)

But nothing I started to write felt right…

It was almost like my mind wanted to follow my regular ‘weekly routine’ of writing something inspirational and useful, and my heart kept blocking it.

So I paused. And I listened.

We’ve been talking too much. It’s time to listen. Time to stop thinking about our response, stop offering our justifications, our explanations, our versions of how we see the world.

It’s time to stop nodding our heads as if we ‘understand.’

The videos below are what my heart led me to. Without words, I’ll invite you to just watch them.

The first one is a song about our human family.

The second is about making a difference.

The third is what happens when we put our guard down and allow Grace and love to soften us up.

All three come from people who I deeply admire (especially Clemmie Greenlee, who taught me so much about how not to play a ‘white hero’ but to support grassroots leaders, like her, who understand the needs and struggles of her black community).
