It&#8217;s a temporary state we are in, but one that can be changed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>Our\u00a0<em>experiences<\/em>\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0<em>who\u00a0<\/em>we are.<\/strong>\u00a0We are\u00a0<em>having\u00a0<\/em>these experiences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Even when we feel \u2018broken,\u2019 at the core of who we are, we always remain whole. (Some call that core the soul, or the consciousness, or the true self. It\u2019s the\u00a0<em>you<\/em>\u00a0that God knew before you were placed in your mother\u2019s womb. It\u2019s the\u00a0<em>you<\/em>\u00a0that passes on after you die.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Every one of us will experience painful emotional moments. The sooner a child learns that it\u2019s ok to feel sad, angry, frustrated, disappointed, lonely, etc, the more of a chance they have to embrace all of these experiences and learn to process them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">On the other hand, learning to suppress unpleasant feelings &#8211; and feeling bad or shameful for having them &#8211; leads to avoiding, distracting, or numbing those experiences. You lose the chance to learn how to process them properly. Almost immediately after a fracture, the body will start the repairing and healing process. If the bone is set correctly, it will heal perfectly and we will regain the normal range of motion. If we let the bone heal without setting it back in its place, it will never be the same.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">When it comes to the parts of us that can\u2019t be x-rayed and checked for fractures &#8211; our mind and our hearts (emotions) &#8211; we often don\u2019t apply the same treatment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Feeling broken is ok. Who hasn\u2019t felt some level of brokenness at different points in our lives?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">But not addressing it is not ok.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">You can see unprocessed hurt in someone who becomes a greedy, self-centered profiteer. You can see it in people who hurt others &#8211; when their own unattended brokenness develops into anger and hatred.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">I can look at my own life and see broken relationships and mistakes I made from the place of unprocessed brokenness.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Most of us don\u2019t have the right support, understanding, or even awareness of what\u2019s happening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">But as I wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/tatianacameron.com\/7568-2\/\">last week<\/a> &#8211; once you have even an ounce of awareness about it, you can\u2019t become <em>unaware<\/em>\u00a0of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Wellbeing (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) starts with observing and becoming aware of the habits that are nourishing and the ones that are toxic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">With that awareness, we can access the unprocessed brokenness and heal it.
