Recently, Blais and I were picking up canoes from a friend. Luna was sitting in the back looking at the cows and deer we passed as we drove down the beautiful country lane. The air was warm and the sky was flushed with pink and purple colors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are very lucky to live here,\u201d Blais said and added how beautiful and safe this part of the world is. \u201cIt\u2019s a privilege, really,\u201d I agreed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We passed by his school and he mentioned how great his school is and how lucky he is that he can be in a great band and have amazing opportunities like taking TV and Film classes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We thought of many great things we loved about our little town, enjoying our gratitude ride. It was a gentle kind of gratitude that isn\u2019t created or asked for. It\u2019s the kind that shows up like a sweet fragrance of summer in the south and sinks deep into your being, making you pause and pay attention.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “What a gift to experience it with my almost sixteen-year-old son!”,\u00a0I thought.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe bank can\u2019t just change their mind and take our house away, right?\u201d Blais asked, looking to solidify this feeling of safety.<\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text disabled_on=”off|off|on” _builder_version=”4.5.7″ _module_preset=”default” text_line_height=”2.4em” custom_padding=”|8px||7px|false|false”]<\/p>\n Recently, Blais and I were picking up canoes from a friend. The year 2020 challenged all of us to accept that what we couldn\u2019t imagine\u00a0was possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNo,\u201d I answered. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t plan on selling it either. I like it here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Now the gratitude expanded into the past and pulled out all the hard times, all the financial struggles, all of our resilence and discipline and creativity, and the sheer persistence to find solutions and never give up.<\/span><\/p>\n And I became aware of all the people who were our support system through the years (like you!) and felt even more grateful that we had the humility and grace to not only create, produce, and give but, more importantly, to receive and let others give to us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n My fridge is still broken, customer service is silent (they have no answers or better solutions), but life is good. I\u2019ve been listening, staying out of my own way, and stretching those gaps between two thoughts. I\u2019m loving how that helps me to stay in a place of peace, calm, gratitude, love, and grace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I remember this place from my own childhood.
