A friend of mine, who is a radio announcer, wrote to me how his radio station is making huge cuts – due to businesses shutting down and not being able to advertise. We were going to produce a radio jingle for his show, and he was disappointed because we can\u2019t get the funds to do it.<\/span><\/p>\n I wrote to him: \u201cWe have to keep showing up for people – you as a radio personality, me as a music artist… because without music and entertainment, life becomes hopeless…We’ll figure it out…\u201d.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Then I turned my head to my right and let the MixTiles my son made for me remind me:<\/span><\/p>\n Breathe<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Mindset<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Support<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Action<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We\u2019ll figure it out.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Making Space for Grace<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n This past week, I posted a video on my Patreon page<\/a>, about my Closet Cleaning adventure.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s significant about it is that (following Marie Kondo\u2019s KonMari method of tidying up), I took every piece of clothing out of my closet and piled it up on my bed, 2 hours before a Live Streamed Concert – part of \u2018Portraits in Faith Concert Series\u2019!<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Somehow I felt strongly compelled to do this and I didn\u2019t really think much of it (everyone cleans out their closets once in a while, right?) until it was 6:15 pm and I needed to pick out what to wear. LOL!<\/span><\/p>\n Only after the concert (which flowed so beautifully and really was a healing experience), I made the connection between this strange urge to clean out my closet and the need to make \u201cspace for grace.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n I needed to give myself permission to embrace the change that is happening in my life, and let go of the past because everything IS different now.<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s like my song \u201cKeep Your Head Up\u201d says: \u201cThe road behind is broken, mountains shook and the earth split open\u201d – there is no going back.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Make room for new clothes and, more importantly, new growth. The very process of falling apart changes us. Every hardship changes us.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n But when we fall apart, we have a chance to keep (and use) only the parts we want in our lives.<\/span><\/p>\n Like bringing only the clothes you want (and ones that fit you) into your newly organized closet.<\/span><\/p>\n Like replacing some that are truly worn out and no longer serve the purpose (like a worn out, stained blouse.)<\/span><\/p>\n So today I invite you to think about what you are willing to let go of, and what you don’t want to put back on your proverbial shelves<\/strong> – anger, resentment, resistance
